We looked after the grounds at this magnificent property for a number of years before our client decided to relocate.
We were responsible for mowing the formal lawns, mowing the field areas, keeping the driveway clear of debris and pruning the shrubs and hedges as required.
The Ashburton team also carried out the planting of the yew, laurel and Portuguese laurel hedges.
We have worked for our clients at this property for over 17 years.
We are responsible for the grounds maintenance including, the mowing of the formal lawns, mowing of the field, cutting off the hedges, pruning of the trees and shrubs as required, planting and making the compost as well as much more.
We have also installed granite sett edging stones as well as metal edging between the lawn and borders. In addition, we have also rabbit-proofed the entire perimeter of the property.
Our client wanted the old buildings to be demolished before a new purpose built garage was constructed from SIP panels.
The foundations and over site were dug and poured in accordance with the structural engineer and building control. We then built the brickwork up to the required height before laying compacted type 1. The type 1 was then blinded with sand before a dpm was laid. This then had 150mm of PIR insulation laid on to it followed by reinforced mesh. The over site was then poured with a 150mm concrete slab ready for the SIP panels to be installed.
Having recently moved into the property our clients wanted to install a new, more accessible entrance and driveway.
Having removed the soil from site we laid a geo textile membrane followed by 150mm of compacted type 1 that was then dressed with 20mm Oxford gravel.
To complete the entrance, sleepers were installed to retain the soil along with granite setts to provide a definition between the road and driveway. Gates were then installed to provide privacy.
Our clients asked us to provide them with a more usable space and a path to their greenhouse and veg area that was not “just boring and straight”.
We laid Promenade Indian Sandstone on compacted type 1 and installed a slatted fence to provide privacy around the seating area.
The path was formed from sleepers set at different angles so as to give it more character.
A corten pond was also installed. Soil and planting was built up at the rear so as to aid wildlife.
Our client will plant the borders as well as the area in between the sleeper path.

Having cleared this site of the existing buildings and excavated the foundations they are then poured using a volumetric mixer and line pump.
These foundations will carry a retaining wall and brick work for the new oak frame building. This project will be completed later in 2025.
All foundations are dug and poured in accordance with building control.
This is an area of ground that we look after for a residents association.
It is our responsibility to ensure that the grounds look their best at all times and this includes: mowing, hedge cutting, plant maintenance, weeding, spraying of hard surfaces for weeds and much more.
As licensed waste carriers all the waste is removed from the site and disposed of in a responsible manner.
Our spray operators are all PA1, PA2 and PA6 qualified to conform with the current regulations.

This garden had not had any attention for many years and was in need of modernisation.
Beautiful polished concrete porcelain was laid to give a contemporary feel to this outdoor space.
Our team also installed a new lawn and a Photinia hedge to give privacy as it matures.
In addition, a new side access gate was installed with a polished concrete porcelain path laid to the garage.
Please note – the sleeper wall has no connection to Ashburton Ltd.
After 30 years one of the gateposts had become rotten. Our clients have decided to replace the post as well as the tired-looking gates for a more modern look. This also included a pedestrian gate which enables pedestrian access whilst the main gates can be kept locked for vehicle security. All gates are fitted with adjustable hinges so they can be easily adjusted should they swell or shrink, they are also supplied with a ring latch for easy opening and a key lock that can be operated from both sides.
In addition, our client also asked us to install a close board fence on the inside of the hedge that has seen better days. This gives the garden a feeling of security as well as defined lines. In the future, it will give our client the option to replace the hedge whilst keeping the garden private.
We are so happy with the new appearance of the property. It really does change the whole feel of the front driveway area. We wish we had had it done years ago! Thank you to the Ashburton team.

Our client had recently moved into this property and had been left with a gravel patio. They wanted a contemporary outdoor space to entertain.
Cinder porcelain planks were laid to leave a large entertaining area. We also installed a slatted redwood fence to give privacy at one end of the patio and a pleached hornbeam at the other in order to give a contrast.
